At Merrimack Valley Pavilion, we’re proud to be the place families and friends go for everyday fun, birthday parties, and group events north of Boston. We host all kinds of events, from corporate outings to school field trips to team parties, but one of our favorite types of events to do has to be fundraisers! We have plenty of team fundraising ideas for you to try in hopes of raising funds for whatever cause it may be.
We love helping local organizations raise money for a good cause, like the upcoming Wounded Warrior Car Show we’re hosting on Sunday, August 16th. If you’re planning a fundraiser in Tewksbury, Lowell, Andover, Wilmington, Billerica, Woburn, or elsewhere in the north of Boston/ Merrimack Valley area, give us a call today to discuss your event, and check out these awesome fundraising tips to help you make your event more effective.
- Know your goal. Before you can plan your event, you need to know what the purpose is! Decide whether your primary objective is to raise money to donate, to raise awareness, to create connections within the community, or some other combination of skills.
- Set a realistic budget. If the goal is to raise money for your cause, it’s vital that you know how much you’re spending on the catering, venue, entertainment, etc. Do the math beforehand and make sure your event will be profitable for the cause.
- Know your target audience. In any kind of event planning, it’s so important to know who you’re planning for, but especially so when you want people to open their hearts (and their wallets) to support your cause. For example, if you’re looking for some middle school fundraising ideas, your target audience might be students, teachers, and parents. Bear this in mind when you’re planning the fundraising activity so you can raise as much money as possible!
- Be prepared. Organizing a fundraiser is a lot of work, but the more you do ahead of time, the smoother it will go. You may not realize it but planning an event can be harder than you think. That’s why you may want to get a helping hand from an event production company in your area who will be able to take off some of that pressure; allowing you to focus on other aspects of the event. There are many other things that you can do to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Consider doing a run-through with your staff to ensure they know what they’re doing when the big day rolls around. This will give you time to adjust anything that needs some tweaking.
